Earlier known as Research in Motion has just unveiled the two smart phones that it is hoping to increase its profits. And these phones will work on the equally fresh BlackBerry 10 operating system.

BlackBerry has been struggling a lot to survive in the markets such as the United States of America, & is hoping that the gadgets it only uncovered will assist turn things in its favor. And the Canadian mobile phone maker is now officially called BlackBerry.

Though the smartphones are more important than the name of the company.

The initial of these to arrive out starting in a country is named as the BlackBerry Z10. It is a touchscreen centric thingy with a 4.2inches, 1280 x 768 pixels screen. It is giving it a fairly respectable pixel density of 356 pixels per inch.

It is going to work on BlackBerry 10 operating system on a 1.5GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 Plus central processing system, with 2 GB of RAM. And there is a micro SD memory card slot for memory expansion.

Is BlackBerry finally on the right track ?

The troubled smartphone manufacturer BlackBerry (earlier Research in Motion) surprised all of us with its sales numbers for the last quarter of the present financial year. With only a couple of days for the financial year to end, the sales for the Canadian mobile phone maker appear a lot promising.

BlackBerry Chief Executive Officer Thorsten Heins stated that whilst six million BlackBerry phones got shipped previous year, 1million Z10 phones were shipped only in the previous quarter. BlackBerry which released their fresh BlackBerry 10 operating system previously this month released two phones, the BlackBerry Z10 & the BlackBerry Q10 under the fresh operating system. Strangely, BlackBerry selected India to be the first nation to get the BlackBerry Z10. It was released initially in the Indian market & then hit the other markets.

BlackBerry started shipping the Z10 in United States previous week through several network operators. As per Heins, the demand for the phone has been better than anticipated & the tough sales of BlackBerry Z10 are proving that. The Chief Executive Officer also claimed that more than half of BlackBerry Z10s user base arrived from outside the BlackBerry operating system & that users from other operating software were keen to use the fresh BlackBerry 10 operating system.

BlackBerry is now looking at forcefully market their BlackBerry 10 phones in the United States marketplaces as well as outside the United States.

The numbers are speaking for themselves. BlackBerry stated a quarterly profit of 98million dollars in the previous quarter. Last quarter, BlackBerry is reporting 9million dollars in total income.

And whilst we are glad for BlackBerry & would like to pop the champagne, we are still a bit skeptical over Thorsten Heins claim. The BlackBerry Chief Executive Officer has had to bite his tongue in the earlier times over such claims. No it is not to suggest that BlackBerry reports are fake, though simply warning Heins against making any more false allegations that might land him in a soup.

Windows Phone 8 and BB 10: Room for more players?

2013 has started with the debut, uncovering or release of fresh gadgetry. It is typically the time the big players try to make huge announcements that will shape the technology market for the entire year. Research in Motion, after a lengthy break, is ready to offer its new handsets along with a fresh operating system. But is there any more room in the market?

BlackBerry 10 has been in the production for a long time now since November last year. It looks great, though lacks that uniqueness necessary to lure users. Also, Microsoft Windows Phone 8 is also trying to gain some traction in the market. So, users will have plenty to choices this year.

BlackBerry desires to capture the marketplace with the release of its new smartphones on the new operating system, counting those with a penchant for physical QWERTY keyboards. Obviously, that group is decreasing.

Its focus on strengthening application development for the platform something that is very essential. BlackBerry has launched BlackBerry 10 operating system with 70,000 applications ready & waiting for keen users. Majority of popular applications are already available for the new platform.

On the other hand, Windows Phone operating system is another interesting option with smartphones such as the Lumia 920 & its astonishing snapper or the HTC 8X with its edgy. Its tile based interface has won the appreciation of users for its slickness and appeal. What is disappointing here is the apps market, which is still not impressive.

The market is dominated by the Apple iOS and Android. Users have already invested a lot in the ecosystems and it would be very difficult to lure them. Still, nothing is impossible.
